Atlantic Press is dedicated to the principle of producing first authorial book publications for author/illustrators. This involves giving the creator editorial freedom with the press providing the background support, guidance and production. We want to encourage the publication of personally authored and illustrated books, uncommon in the commercial mainstream.

Atlantic Press books aim to maintain the high production values of the larger publishing houses, producing books that display these more personal ‘authorial’ qualities. In doing this, we want to contribute to a subtle shift in the culture of illustrated books, towards one that is open to a broader range of personal approaches.

Atlantic Press provides individuals (or collaborators) with the opportunity of experiencing book production from start to finish, developing the knowledge, experience and entrepreneurial skills to enable them to sustain their practice.
